He got into Drum & Bass whilst still at school, inspired by LTJ Bukem & Alex Reece and his DJ career soon blossomed – randomly adopting the name 'Utah Jazz' from the US Basketball team to showcase his preference for the mid 90s 'Jazz-Jungle' sound.

A trail of amazing 12's followed on Good Looking, Hospital & his own Fallen Angels imprint, but for his debut album Utah Jazz has chosen Liquid V, an offshoot of Bryan Gee's seminal V Recordings, the first home of Roni Size & DJ Marky.

This album might have taken over ten years before surfacing, but it is well worth the wait. Over 12 tracks & a few lovingly crafted interludes, Utah Jazz shows with brilliance why Drum & Bass and funk are such a match made in heaven.

The soulful and uplifting 'Feeling Inside' sets the tone, & the 12" sampler 'Back In Time', currently making waves at 1-Xtra & Kiss, leaves no doubt this LP is the soundtrack to a summer party. With the help of some well chosen samples and a great sense of lush textures, Utah Jazz has created beautiful, varied music packed with awesome energy.

Check the James Bond-esque vibe of 'Mesmerize', the vintage Drum & Bass tones of 'The Message', the sleazy funk of 'Funkless life', the Reggae-inspired 'Riddim Track', the infectious closing 'Acoustic Jam' & you will want to start all over again.

Utah Jazz Press Quotes:
... "The most eagerly-anticipated debut album in years... Utah Jazz has got a rhythm, soul & vision all his own and the entire drum & bass world will soon be stepping to his beat..." Knowledge Magazine

... "If the drum & bass scene's upper reaches have a reputation for maintaining their rigid hierarchy with all the ruthless efficiency of a Stalinist accounting firm, then Utah Jazz is most certainly the kid who cracked the code..." iDJ

..."After 10 years of producing, 'It's A Jazz Thing' is well worth the wait, showcasing Wilson's knack of excavating big riffs and hooks from 70's soul and funk, and melding them together in an uplifting dance floor soup. 4 out of 5..." Mixmag

..." An original and unique listening experience. If you don't know about Utah Jazz yet, what exactly is your excuse?!..." (ATM Mag)

..."Lovers of the soulful, funky side of Drum & Bass have a new champion and that's Utah Jazz..." DJ Mag

..."This London native has emerged as one of Drum and Bass' most promising superstar DJs..." Juice Mag, Asia)

..."It's producers like Utah Jazz who inspired me to set up Liquid V, simple as that..." (Bryan G – V Recordings / Movement)

Album Tracklist: (Released 14th July 2008)
01. Leeds & Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
How did TC1 & stresslevel get into music? Generally for both of them the general interest in dance music all kicked off back in our school days. LFO, 808 State, and some of the rave stuff like Prodigy, Altern 8 etc that was getting in the charts at the time.

Ant TC1: It was the dj'ing side that grabbed me first. I remember a 'Grooverider @ Fantazia' Tape from 1992 in particular that really got me hooked on the dj'ing aspect of the music. I bought some belt drive turntables and a few months later I got my first slot on pirate radio, then I progressed on to playing in clubs at 16, production came a good few years later for me.
What music has/does inspire or influence us? In the earlier jungle days it was artists like Omni Trio, Roni Size, Die, Krust, Doc Scott, Hidden agenda all that definitely had an impact in terms of wanting to get involved in making the music. Inspiration for our own tunes is something different - it can come from going out, an idea popping into your head at a strange moment, a wicked sample you've found, or just what mood you're in at the time.
Other info Our tracks to date have received strong support with Fabio airing 9 of our tracks to date so far on his Radio 1 show, Grooverider has aired the XRS remix of "No Way back" on his Radio 1 show as well as our mix of Chris SU's "Satisfy". Our tracks have also received support from the likes of Bailey, Flight, Friction, Dbridge & L-Double (all on 1xtra) and club play on dub from the likes of Goldie, Klute, Zinc, Calibre, Artificial Intelligence, A-sides, Simon Bassline, Total Science, High Contrast, LTJ Bukem, Nu:Tone, Commix, Brian G, Dj Lee and Storm to name a good few.

Ant TC1 is still running the general management side of Dispatch Recordings. Releases lined up for 2008 include material from the likes of Survival, Zero Tolerance, Steo, Atlantic Connection, Stress Level & TC1, Tactile and Chris SU. Also watch out for Ant TC1's mix cd "Mixed & Dispatched" still out on general release and a future follow up "Mixed & Dispatched part 2" this year.

http://www.rolldabeats.com/artist/tc1
http://www.rolldabeats.com/label/dispatch_recordings
http://www.myspace.com/anttc1
http://www.myspace.com/dispatchmyspace

SpectraSoul Bio
The last 12 months has seen SpectraSoul rise as one of the most exciting new talents within the drum and bass scene, and they continue to ride the crest of the wave of new producers.

Having spent the last year defining and refining their musical techniques, SpectraSoul have gained a reputation for bridging the gap between light & dark, hard & smooth, both in the studio and within their DJ sets.Last year saw the release of highly acclaimed "III Note Soul" and "Cherry Smoke" on Shogun:LTD, with both tracks gaining support from all the main players in the game and securing their place on the d&b map. Releases have snowballed from there on, with signings to Renegade Recordings, WestBay International, Soundtrax, a debut EP on Nu:Directions, and further releases on DJ Friction's Shogun Audio and SGN:LTD imprints.

Showcasing their talents on the turntables at some of the most prestigious venues throughout the UK and Europe, SpectraSoul have gained residencies at Shogun events in both London and Brighton, and prove to be a popular choice for promoters across the globe with an ever-growing booking schedule for 2008. Having gained solid DJ support from the likes of Friction, Fabio, DJ Marky, Klute, Logistics, Commix, Break and D-Bridge amongst others, the duo's sound has echoed around dance floors worldwide.

The coming months see releases from SpectraSoul on some of the biggest labels within drum and bass, collaborations with other pioneer producers, and some exciting remix projects to look forward to.With everything taken into account, 2008 is sure to be a big year for the duo.

http://www.myspace.com/spectrasoul
http://www.shogunaudio.co.uk/
